NIFT SITUATION TEST

Shortlisted candidates for B.Des from the written entrance examination will appear for the Situation Test. A student will have to make a three-dimensional model, with various materials provided, based on a topic or theme. This is a practical test to evaluate the candidate’s skills for the handling of material. Innovative ability is also important. Students will get a situation with some materials. No additional material allowed.

The model will be evaluated on the following qualities

 Visualization
Innovative use of materials
Elements
Colour scheme
Construction skill
The finishing of the model and overall presentation etc.
The experts will judge the students on the write-up also. The write-up will be in English because the medium of instruction in NIFT is English so NIFT will not allow any other language. The use of outside material for the model is not allowed.

The students should be neat and clean with the work. The Jury will judge models of the test on the spot. The model will not be kept for future reference.

The situation test contains 20% marks. The Situation test is the final round of selection that is why the students should be creative and quick.
